Abstract
This document briefly introduces you to the next generation
hardware diagnostics, System Fault Management (SFM). It describes
how to migrate from EMS-based hardware monitoring solution to WBEM-based
hardware monitoring solution. It contains information about WBEM providers
that are used to obtain information about Direct Attached Storage
and IO devices on a managed system. This document also provides troubleshooting
information for issues that may occur during migration.
This document is intended for system administrators, HP support
personnel, and HP field engineers who use information about server
hardware inventory and other details to troubleshoot faulty devices.
Specifically, this document caters to those users who would like to
migrate from EMS-based hardware monitoring solution to WBEM-based
hardware monitoring solution. Users of this document are expected
to have knowledge of HP-UX operating system concepts, commands, and
online diagnostics tools.
